I am Akshaya Kumar Panda pursuing my master’s in chemistry at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla. My research interest lies in next-generation nanocomposite-based biosensors for early cancer diagnostics. These advanced platforms leverage the synergistic properties of multifunctional nanomaterials to achieve exceptional sensitivity, enhanced surface area, tunable chemistry, and robust signal amplification. I am particularly focused on the detection of exosomes—nanoscale vesicles carrying tumor-specific proteins and nucleic acids—which serve as powerful, minimally invasive biomarkers but remain challenging to analyze due to their small size and heterogeneity. Nanocomposite-enabled biosensing systems address these limitations by enabling highly selective and ultrasensitive detection of exosomal biomarkers. I am also interested in recent advancements in imaging, sample processing, and real-time analytical techniques that push these technologies closer to clinical use. Additionally, I aim to explore current challenges related to standardization, scalable fabrication, and integration with digital healthcare systems to support the successful translation of these sensing platforms into real world applications.
